THANK YOU…

I would like to thank all who organised services to mark the 2021 World Day of Prayer on 5 March.  We are aware that those in Auckland were unable to hold the services because of lock-down and plan to hold these at a later date.  We checked with the New York headquarters of World Day of Prayer and they said this was okay and they themselves are still in lock down and working from home.  I know of some women in Auckland who were able to find a service on line and were able to participate in that way.  We were one of the few countries in the World, were able to have ‘in person’ services, except in Auckland.

Hopefully you found the resources suited your needs and that you were able to access additional information off the website.  The National Committee are committed to having an active and up to date website where you can access not only all the New Zealand resources but those from other National Committee’s around the World as well as the International Committee.

Once again thank you for all your efforts and in this second year of the global pandemic we realise the importance of these global events that bring us together in this unique way.  The coming together of various races, cultures and traditions in closer fellowship, understanding and action in an annual day of celebration (the first Friday of March – pandemics willing) to which all people are welcome.

Next year’s service has been prepared by the World Day of Prayer Committee of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the theme is “I Know the Plans I have for you”.

I would like to remind you to return to Jan Harland (Treasurer) the yellow form with the details of your services and to inform us that you have transferred the takings from the offering to our bank account.

Pauline McKay – Chair
National Aotearoa New Zealand World Day of Prayer Committee
